In Honor of the fact that my 16 mile run yesterday was thwarted by more of my chronic knee/leg/calf issues (which can now be classified as knee/leg/calf/hip/thigh/shin/lower back issues), I am sharing one of my favorite recipes for Coconut Chickpea Curry.

With The Boilermaker now officially a piece of history, I am focusing my attention on The Baltimore Marathon. I’m scared, but I’m just going to go with the flow of my training plan. And pray. Lots of praying.

Hydrate and Fuel: Partial Success…Kinda.

Yesterday’s plan to hydrate and fuel went well for the most part. Except for my 5 hour migraine-induced post-run nap. And the fact that I’ve been OD’ing on Benadryl to combat the allergic reaction that my face had to my sweat. Who said that running is glamorous?

Go Forth and Plant Seeds

Up until now, it hasn’t really bothered me that I live in the city and don’t have a garden. However, now that my diet consists of mostly fruit and vegetables, I am obsessed with having a garden. What is this strange desire to plant and grow and harvest? Is this just my biological clock again? Whatever the psycho(logical) explanation, I decided to feed this affliction with a little dirt and seed.

I have really been going out on limbs in regards to new foods lately. Since I’m not convinced that dairy is the best thing for me, and I don’t particularly care for soy products, I’ve been trying various almond, coconut, and rice-derived alternatives. Costume Change: From Breakfast Puff to Breakfast Cake!

Unfortunately, Sunday’s Brunch Bunch Breakfast Puffs got stale after a few days. Rather than being wasteful, I remixed the breakfast puffs into delicious breakfast cakes! The benefit is that the new and improved cakes are much more nutritionally sound than the original puffs, while still maintaining their original yum-factor.
