I don't know about you, but after my long runs, I am ravenous for like the next 2 days. I try to keep a lid on it and not go too overboard, but when you run 10 miles and burn 1,000 calories, your body just wants (and needs) to eat. I don't mind obliging. That said, my monthly Sunday Brunch Bunch couldn't have come at a better time!

I ran 10.25 miles on Saturday. It was the longest run in the history of Joggerdom. I did some walking, and thanks to a FuelBelt that my coworker let me borrow, I was nicely hydrated throughout the entire run. I felt such a sense of accomplishment when I finished. Especially since I finished with no wonky leg/knee/calf pain. Especially since I have a 1/2 marathon on Sunday, and I wasn’t sure if I could even crawl 10 miles, much less run most of it.

But, I did.

And, I didn’t die.

That’s good.

I don’t know about you, but after my long runs, I am ravenous for like the next 2 days. I try to keep a lid on it and not go too overboard, but when you run 10 miles and burn 1,000 calories, your body just wants (and needs) to eat. I don’t mind obliging.

That said, my monthly Sunday Brunch Bunch couldn’t have come at a better time!

Sunday brunch, I love you!

I love having friends who love to cook and eat. We often have entire conversations about food. I love my friends.

This is Mandy’s fausage and egg brunch bake. It was fantastic. The eggs were fluffy, and the fausage was very fausage-y.

Despite the fact that I needed a pick axe to chop through the Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Tortilla “crust” of this quiche, it was outrageously tasty. We soon discovered that the extra crispy Ezekiel tortilla acted as an excellent handle, and allowed us to more efficiently feed our faces with the eggy-cheesy-cilantro-y goodness that was this Southwest Tortilla Quiche. The recipe for this will be gracing Jogger’s Life very soon.

This was my crown jewel. PW’s French toast bake. I made this French toast bake for our last Sunday brunch, but the crust was a little too crusty. This time, it was perfection. The mixed berries, the cinnamon crunch topping. Heavenly.

Filled croissants. Filled croissants are good.

Banana bread makes me think of my mom. She usually burned it though. This banana bread wasn’t at all like my mom’s.

We filled our faces. Stuffed ourselves to the limit.

And then, we partied. Danced on the tables. Dropped it like its hot. We’re party animals like that.

She can dance better than me, and she’s only a year old.

Then, we removed the child from the table, and got a group shot.

Then, I went home and rubbed my belly.

So, what is your favorite brunch recipe? I need some ideas for the next Brunch Bunch!

If you haven’t already heard, the fitnessista is giving away a great book and some of her famous macaroons!
