Thoughtful Thursday

May 14, 2009

My personality is such that I am always (always) consumed by some persistent thought. I’m slightly obsessive. I’m one of those people who gets an idea in her large, melon-sized head, and I won’t let it go until I have done either of the following: a) failed, or b) succeeded.

Raw Cheese is Good.

May 13, 2009

In my foodilicious travels, and as part of my CCV “new foods challenge”, I decided to try something that has otherwise freaked me out in the past. I saw a documentary once about a girl who was lobbying for the ability to buy and consume raw milk. To my rawvirgin ears, this was blasphemous and disgusting. So, I ventured out to my local organic market and purchased some raw cheese of my very own. I was determined to form my own opinion about the raw stuff.

Product Review & Hawt Boy Pix: TRX Suspension Trainer

May 12, 2009

My Gazelle loves the TRX Suspension Trainer. This past Saturday, we were being held hostage in our development due to a street festival, foiling all previous plans of us making it to the gym. It makes me feel like I am broken, and I abhor feeling broken (vulnerable, hurt, frail, damaged, defective, injured).

Chocolate Making 101: Hand-Making Truffles

May 5, 2009

I was lucky enough to be able to attend a great event at a local pastry shop this past Sunday after my half marathon: Chocolate Making 101: Hand-Making Truffles. I love making things. I love truffles. It was perfect. I wrangled up a few friends, and we set forth with our plan to learn how to make truffles. You can make these at home, it is SO easy. I promise.

“Raw” Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudgies

May 5, 2009

These little fudge beauties rival the “no bake” cookies that I made as a child, but they are so much healthier. They really are delicious, and the oats get softer and soak up the other flavors as they dehydrate. You will love them. I promise.
